1972 Jamaica 10th Anniversary of Independence $10 Silver Coin

This is an especially neat coin because its imagery brings together two of the figures most associated with Jamaica's independence movement: Alexander Bustamante and Norman Washington Manley, whose portraits appear together on the reverse alongside a map of Jamaica.

Issued for Jamaica's 10th anniversary of independence, this substantial 49.2-gram .925 silver commemorative was actually struck by the Royal Canadian Mint in Ottawa, making it an unexpected piece of Canadian minting history too; this example shows natural toning, light scratches and age-related wear.
